2016 Inglenook Estate Rubicon

I am treating myself to a rare find in the wine chest, the 2016 Inglenook Estate Rubicon.

Pretty fancy wine for a dog!

Inglenook Cabernet is one of the reasons we now use the phrase, Napa Cab.

Gustave Niebaum, the original owner of Inglenook was a winemaking pioneer and one of those responsible for putting Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon on the map.

After going through some tumultuous years of winemaking, the property fell into the hands of Francis Ford Coppola.

What started as a journey to grow some grapes and make some wine to share with friends has become a way of life for Francis Ford Coppola.  Coppola has resurrected the Inglenook property back to its’ rightful place in Napa Valley Winemaking history. Thanks for crossing the Rubicon, Mr. Coppola!

The Best of the Best, Rubicon is a Bordeaux style blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Cabernet Franc. The 2016 Rubicon is full-bodied and focused with great elegance and length, that means it tastes really yummy in your mouth. Amazingly fresh with flavors of violets, dark chocolate and of all things, blueberries! Certified organically farmed.

Enjoy with a Holiday roast or a root vegetable tart.  I served this with a roasted duck and the pairing was spot on.  Click here for the recipe!
