Location

Hip Soho area in lower Manhattan. Boutique stores and art galleries galore. Wanna go for a walk? Check out the nearby meatpacking district and the Bowery for some great smells or walk along the Hudson River for some fresh air!

Hotel Accomodations

This place is a dog’s dream. Lobby, salons - all pet friendly. Need a bed while in the restaurant? No problem, staff is super accommodating! Elevators are nice and big with, get this - dog artwork!! I mean, is this place for real or am I dreaming??!!

Rooms

Welcomed with a doggie bed and bowls, without even asking! Spacious floor to ceiling windows are available to check out super chic Soho. Puppy pads, too! Love the heated towels after coming in from the rain. Kit Kemp is brilliant! Super comfortable chairs with appealing fabrics and textures.

The Bowery Hotel

Grit and Grime meets Subtle Sophistication.

Location

Somewhere between hip and chic and the good old days of CBGB's. Great smells, with lively cast of Humans on the side streets (I think they are still looking for some good Punk music). Parks even | wouldn't go in on one side of the street but cross over Bowery — treats galore! Boutique shops, upscale hair salons, spas — all with doggie treats and some even offer water for those dog days of summer.

Hotel Accomodations

Great lobby — awesome sitting area with couches,
comfortable rugs and lovely fireplace. Staff is very
friendly and welcoming. Elevators are a good size for
small and medium sized dogs.

Rooms

Magnificent windows — floor to ceiling make it easy to look out, comfortable pillows and bed (but don't tell anyone), doggie bowls available, too.

The Benjamin

1950's swagger, bring back thecocktails.

Location

Great corner location 50th and Lex. — not too far from Central Park. Lots of vendors with sausages, schwarmas, and hot dogs. If you stay around long enough, something has gotta fall. Be careful of scraps that are already on the ground, you may end up with a bellyache. Check out the cool video from Fox News featuring yours truly!

Well, I have to admit, the lobby is not one of my favorites. It’s a bit crowded and small. There are poles everywhere — I was zigzagging every which way. However, what’s missing in layout is definitely made up for in service. Concierge treatment is divine, do they let humans even stay here?

Rooms

Wow, I get to choose my own pillow? That is pretty awesome. Lovely treats and water bowls, pet psychic? How about a human psychic — would definitely like to know what is gong on in Julie and Bob's minds!!

Redbury Hotel

The hustle and bustle of New York-Inside and outside and keeping it real

What | like about this hotel? Two entrances. Sometimes | just gotta go — | don't need the hustle and bustle of the lobby. | can quietly exit without anyone even knowing. And if | want, | can make a quick trip around the block and make a grand entrance so | can get another treat from the concierge. Really close to Union Park, somewhat dog friendly and Madison Square Park — great dog park there — it was featured in the Sex in the City movie when Elizabeth Taylor met too many “friends.”

Hotel Accomodations

There is a great hallway that leads up to the concierge. Screams let me go, so | can run. But | restrained myself
and acted like the good girl that | am. There are awesome photos on the walls. Got my picture taken with timeless beauties and even some playboy bunnies! Other than the hallway, not much room to roam, but that's ok, remember two entrances.

Rooms

| found it very easy to cuddle up in this room. | had treats, dog bowls, a welcome note, quite lovely. There wasn't any view other than the building next door so | made sure to visit the pet friendly parks so | would be dog tired when | got back.

55th and 5th. It just rolls off your tongue. So close to so much. Times Square, great place for morning walks. Central Park, the coolest park in the world. East Side, West Side, take your pick, easy walk to whichever side you lean toward.

Hotel Accomodations

Auntie Joycie, thank you so much for introducing me to the Peninsula! Stunningly beautiful, the staircase is extravagant. There is a cozy little bar just up the stairs to the right that | keep trying to get in but those bellman are quick, they catch me just before | can get in. Speaking of bellman, boy everyone is beyond friendly. Everyone wants to pat me, which is really nice, but | am looking for the treats. Plenty of space to walk around if you can drag yourself away from playing on the stairs. The elevators are cozy better behave in here.

Rooms

Lovely. Everything is understated and relaxing. | hope we don’t have to go on many walks. | would much prefer hanging out in this chair, watching all those people on 5th, scurrying about, going this way and that, can't they make up their minds? Very thoughtful of them as well to give me a water and dog bowl. A bit surprised on the choice of dog food — not a fan of processed goods.

Centrally located if you like midtown and close enough to Central Park for a great stroll. If you are en route to the park, don't even think about cooling off in any of the fountains in front of all those buildings, security comes out of the woodwork and they are not particularly dog friendly.

Ah, the French. No need to leave this fine
establishment. The French treat us right. Big enough for me to stroll around with plenty of places to sit and wait for friends. Enough elevators so | don't get too cramped. What a way to enter a hotel, | feel like | am the top dog here.

Rooms

The bed takes up most of the space and yet, | am still comfortable. The suites are the best though. Wish | could stay in those all the time — it is nice to be able to have my own space, you know what | mean?

So, the Meat Packing District is hip — this section of the city, Tribeca is just understated cool. Quite a few pet shops, too. Very close to SOHO and the Lower East Side so | got to show off my hounds tooth coat.

| can't say they were happy to see me but, they weren't upset, either. Maybe it's their way of being hip? Should | have wagged my tail less and pretended | was just as nonchalant about being there? A very good friend of mine remembered me though, and treated me with such enthusiasm and kindness — she even brought me presents!! Thanks Dana, you're the best!!

Rooms

| just love when designers think about us dogs and make windows that are floor to ceiling. There is so much to see on the streets of New York. Nothing like enjoying a bagel and watching the dogs go by.

Oh my dear Maggie, I do love you however, it will be a cold day in you know where before you are able to visit this property. Grace, Elegance, and Refinement. Lovely side street — My proper side shined through and through. My one regret was not being allowed to play the piano at the Café Carlyle, I really think I could jam with Woody or Judy…. maybe next time….

Understated elegance. The elevators are tight quarters with a very fine gentleman who pushes the floor buttons for you! I could use this at home.

Rooms

It’s not about the room. I’m staying at the Carlyle. BTW, Sunday brunch is divine.

To beg for — Meat Packing District (Need | say more???). With a good nose, the smell of the old days cry out to us and beg for scraps not to go to waste. Oh how | salivate thinking about it. Unfortunately, digging for smells is frowned upon in this very young and beauty conscious area.

Hotel Accomodations

Spacious lobby, but a bit bare. Where is everybody, too cool to hang out? The elevators are big enough but they take a long time so remember to be patient.

Rooms

Well, the staff was nice enough to give us a room with an outdoor terrace (BONUS!!). Being able to get some fresh air and hear the noises of the city, | felt right at home. And doggie treats from my hometown favorite — Polka Dog Bakery! They make their own treats — scrumptious!

The hustle and bustle of New York-inside and outside and keeping it real

Well, you can't get any closer to THE BEST PARK EVERrrr — Central Park. | have to admit, though, NYD's (New York Dogs) are not all that when it comes to Doggie Park protocols. When | am surrounded by all those yappers, | prefer staying on leash. Oh, and be careful of the horse manure that is absolutely everywhere and absolutely a beast to get out of your paws.

Boy, this is fancy. Flowers everywhere and really comfortable chairs and couches that look out to Central Park. | had to stick close to Julie and Bob, lots of hustle and bustle. | kept thinking, which way do | go, had to really focus here, didn’t want to appear nervous... It was a relief to get into the elevator.

Rooms

‘Well done. Big enough for me to stretch my legs and a really nice corner chair to sit and watch the world go by well, not really, | am staring at a concrete building. How come no doggie treats?

Glitzy glam with that jazz

In the heart of Tribeca, I find myself sharing the sidewalks with many of other four-legged friends. Everyone is nice enough, but all seem to keep to themselves. I find myself darting back and forth from curbs to buildings, the smells so appealing. Film crews are setting up to shoot a movie. Tribeca is really hip.

Hotel Accomodations

This place is huge and very dark. It has a feeling of bygone years. The elevators are nice and big and there aren’t many floors. Jazz clubs, oyster bars, movie theater, I don’t know where to go. Plus, I can’t see where to go because it is so dark. BTW, I am afraid of the dark.

Rooms

Well, the rooms are nice enough with large windows that allow me to look out and watch the movie crew. Do they see up here, wagging my tail? No water or food bowls. Never mind a menu…. How come no doggie bed? I saw a bellman carrying one downstairs, that wasn’t for me? Liking live music is a must – jazz band plays ‘til about 11 o’clock. Fortunately, my snoring prevails over music.

Wow, this is one busy area. The theater district in New York City is quite different from the theater district in Boston. These streets are packed and it doesn't appear anyone knows where they are going! Walking in a sea of legs, here. | can easily find my comfort zone though — Madison Avenue and Park Avenue — now |am in my element.

Well, | couldn't have received a better greeting, thank you for making me feel so welcome after a long trip in the car with my Aunt, boy can she talk about nothing! | love the chairs and couches in the lounge area. A lot of people just hanging out and everyone saying hello to me. Elevators are a good size and | had no problem catching one.

Rooms

Hmmmmm. | thought they knew | was coming? Where's the dog bowls, beds and treats? Crowded outside on the streets and crowded inside in the room, | am going to have to be creative here. The windows are a bit awkward. Even with a chair, | can't see out.
