Location

Well, as you know, Maine is truly one of my favorites places on earth. There is just so much free space to explore — the smells, the sights and the lobsta, boy | love lobsta! We were literally minutes from the beach. Nice little private boardwalk to get us down there. Only problem, the beach is part of a State Park and we are not allowed on the beach even with a leash. That's annoying. Talk about a big tease. We did manage to find some great pathways. Just took some extra exploring.

Hotel Accomodations

This is a very pretty hotel. The lobby leads out to a sprawling lawn that leads out to the ocean. | could sit here all day and look out the window. | was able to sit in the lounge with Bob and Julie while they enjoyed their lunch. The hotel is super dog friendly and | mean super dog friendly. There were many friends around and | am not talking about little fluffy dogs, I'm talking big dogs, really big dogs.

Rooms

This is interesting. There are designated pet friendly rooms. So if you are planning to visit, make sure you book early. When we called, we were a bit worried about the size of the room. Apparently, they have not been to New York City — the room was huge! | had a nice little terrace where | could sit and enjoy the ocean breeze with an afternoon treat. There were floor to ceiling windows so no matter where | sat, | could see out. It was fantastic!

Colony Hotel

Wow...what a view. I can snff the ocean aromas roght outside my window.Mussel shell,seaweed washed ashore,oh,yum ,wait , is that George H.Walking along the beach with Barbara?Boy , she has great pearls.

The small of the harbar and the cobblestone streets, Portland is an awesome vacation spot for dogs.
